Calcined Alumina is a product derived from alpha alumina. When aluminum hydroxide is heated to temperatures above 1100°C, phase transformations of alumina occur, resulting in a final product composed predominantly of alpha alumina. This process takes place in rotary kilns.
The primary impurity in this type of alumina is sodium oxide. Various grades of calcined aluminum oxide are produced, differing in crystal size, morphology, and chemical impurities.
Currently, Azman Powder Arya Company supplies this product in two grades: P10 and P730.
Calcined alumina is widely used in the ceramics, refractory, and abrasive industries. High-purity calcined aluminum oxide is utilized in glass and metal polishing applications, as well as in coated abrasive belts.
